Bill’s airboat tour allows passengers to see and enjoy the natural beauty of the river and understand the history and nature of the river. Tours embark from public boat ramps, various private boat ramps and from fish camps in Central Florida.
A tour lasts approximately 1 and a half hours, which includes a stop on the shore of the historical St John’s river. Passengers are encouraged to bring a camera and perhaps a hat and jacket as it can get quiet windy.
Whilst on St John’s river, some fascinating wildlife can be seen such as alligators, bald eagles, otters, manatees, sand hill cranes, wood stocks, deers, herons and many more.
The Airboat is a 19ft alumitech hull powered by a Chevrolet 454 CI engine producing 425HP. Airboats are relatively loud by their very nature; the latest carbon fibre props are used, as are mufflers to keep noise at a comfortable level. Ear protection is also provided. A comfortable, smooth trip may be expected while on the tour and passengers will be traveling an average of 35 miles per hour in the open boat.
